Kok-tyube and TV tower

Kok-tyube (Green peak) – Upland in the foothills of the Zailinski Alatau bordering with the city on the south. Koktyube comes up to height of 1070 m., the peak of the hill is crowned by TV tower. TV tower-broadcasting station is not available for excursion examination of the city. Illuminated with bright spotlights in the nighttime the TV tower can be observed from almost any place of the city.

Oservation deck and a coffee house where you can have Shashlik alfresco is also located in the hill. Koktyube is also the best place for the night city observation. And if you decide to come up there in the daytime, then descent back on foot will seem to be a nice walk. You can reach Koktyube by the cableway which starts from the Republican Palace.
