State Museum of Kazakh Musical Instruments built in 1908. The author is an architect A.P. Zenkov. This remarkable piece of wooden architecture of the early XX century is the former Parliament House Officer g.Vernogo - located in the western part of PanfilovPark is the most original structure in the city. Since 1980 there was opened a National Museum of Folk Instruments, one of the few in the world. The museum contains an extensive collection of traditional Kazakh instruments: wooden harps and horns, bagpipes, two-and three-dombra kobyz - in total more than 60 varieties. During the tour you can listen to recordings of these unique tools, and also try to play on this instruments.
It’s also displayed musical instruments of outstanding Kazakh musicians, singers, improviser and composer, Abaya Birzhan, Yhlasa, Seitek, Dina Nurpeisova here.
Tour of the rooms complements presentation of folk musical instrumental ensemble «Sazdar cheese», the program which consists of folk kyuev, ancient songs and dances. There is also a sculpture of the national musical instrument Narkobyza installed in front of the museum.
