Svjato-Voznesenski Orthodox Cathedral

Svjato-Voznesenski Orthodox Cathedral of Russian Orthodox Church is situated in the center of Panfilov Park. Cathedral is one of nine unique monuments of wooden construction all over the world. Its wall-paintings and decoration of interior amaze visitors with its beauty and magnificence.
The author of the project is a talented architect, civil engineer A.P. Zenkov. Built in 1904-1907 without any lackuer, it remain standing after the ten-point earthquake in 1911 and all the following ones. In spite of the fact that for many years (from 1927 to 1995) the temple was used beside the purpose, it preserved its grandeur. After its restitution to Russian orthodox church and restoration, temple’s initial splendor gradually returns.
